Welcome to my small spot in the universe.
Through pictures and a few words, I hope to communicate to others the blessings we receive, even in the smallest every day things around us.

Cathedral Quilt

Lots of people like to make quilts..and we all need them!
This is a quilt made by my Sister In Law, Eva Wright.
It is called Cathedral Window..I think.
She worked on this quilt for a L..o.n..g  time.
Every stitch done by hand.
An heirloom to be passed down to future generations!
Quilting is more than a hobby..it is something precious that can be used,
And passed on to our family.

I have an old quilt made by my Mom many years ago.
Though it is tattered and worn, I keep it on my bed,
and sleep with it every night.
Though many years have passed I can still feel Mama's love
that went into making this quilt,
and
It keeps my spirit warm!
I have a picture in my heart of her sitting by the wood heater
in our mountain farmhouse stitching on her quilts.
Precious Memory.
Have a great day!
Love,
Shirley

  2. I made one of these (queen size) in the 80s. It took me a loooonnnng time. My grandmother had so many quilts that she had made. I wish I had one of them now but back in the 50s when we went to her house I thought how old fashioned they were. I wondered why she didn't buy some blankets. We do live and learn. LOL
Thank you for sharing and bringing back the memories.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
