Welcome to my small spot in the universe.
Through pictures and a few words, I hope to communicate to others the blessings we receive, even in the smallest every day things around us.
God is good!

CERAMICS

My Friend, Mrs Louise Childers,
has owned and operated a ceramic shop,
Creative Ceramics and Gifts,
in our community
since 1980.
This is where you can go to learn anything you need to know about ceramics.
She does it all!
Tea pots, cups and saucers, plates, bowls, Angels.
Useful and decorative items.
From pouring , cleaning and  hand painting,
to firing.
In a kiln!
Which gets HOT!!!!
The results are beautiful!
Any time you go by her shop you will find many there working on their own pieces.
It is a great place to go.
To learn about ceramics, and just to visit, and see what others are doing.

Some of her beautiful, hand crafted, hand painted, items:

These jars look like something an artist would use in a set-up for a painting!

I love this sweet Bunny!

And this Bunny family.

Another hand painted Christmas plate.

Roses!

A few more. This is called "greenware".
Just out of the molds.
It still has to be cleaned, fired and painted.
To clean a piece, you have special tools,
to scrape all the rough places,
and sand it to make it perfectly smooth.
A very tedious process!

Then it is ready to fire in the kiln.

Finished Angel
Beautiful work by a great artist.

Sometimes in life we are fortunate enough to find a special friend.
For many years Louise has been a special friend to me.
We have shared good times, and bad times.
Times of great happiness,
Times of great sorrow.
She has laughed with me,
and
I cannot say how many times
She has cried with me.
I have been blessed to have her in my life,
And to call her friend!

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart,
And can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

                                                                          Blessings on all!
                                                                       Love,
                                                                            Shirley
