I confess to being a person that saves "stuff".
Some even call me a pack rat!
And quite possibly that is true,
but
there are some things in life that are worth saving.
In a back room closet sits an old, blue box,
With roses painted on the lid.

Inside:
Cards!
Packed to the brim!
All kinds of cards.
Birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Friendship.
I keep them all.
Along with the beautiful pictures , and the verses,
there are signatures in the sender's own handwriting.
That makes each one special.
And
I treasure each one.
Some are OLD cards, and some are newer.
Let's look at a few.
From my dear friend Barbara.
She never forgets!
A few more from friends and family
These two are from long ago:
The senders have passed from this life.
This one is the last birthday card my husband received from his Mom.
This one was sent to my Mom in the nursing home where she spent her last days.
From my sister, Linda.

There are lots of things you can do with old cards.
Some people make beautiful crafts with them,
boxes, plaques and such.
But I like to keep mine as they are.
Sometimes I get them out and just look at them.
And remember Other Times and Places.
The memories are sweet!
Love,
Shirley
