Welcome to my small spot in the universe.
Through pictures and a few words, I hope to communicate to others the blessings we receive, even in the smallest every day things around us.
God is good!

Home

"Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home."

Our home is not fancy..it has a very "lived in" look.
And no wonder, we have lived here since 1965.
The family is grown and out on their own,
so it is just the two of us most of the time.
Today has been very cool for this time of year, and as usual quite busy.
When I came in this evening, I ran a nice tub of hot water, soaked awhile..
(helps the aches and pains),
then got my "blankey" and settled in my spot on the couch.
And I thought how blessed I am, and how thankful..to have a place to sit and rest ,
a place where I can close the door
and leave the cares of the world outside for awhile.
A place to lay my head at night and sleep.
A place out of the cold...and the heat.
A place filled with memories of happy times with my children when they were growing up.
Thanksgivings and Christmas..I used to buy so many presents it would take a whole day to wrap everything!
Life has been good.
Home...
What a precious word!
Thank you, Lord.

  1. NIce nostaligic post! And beautiful pictures. I remember all those same good times (the day spent wrapping gifts brought memories for sure!). But we have to remember them without the house to remind us because we chose to sell it and downsize so that we could travel. We feel fortunate to have had the house for when the kids were growing up and fortunate to not have it now! (But there are definite tradeoffs and I love reading about retired couples who have chosen differently from what we did.)

  2. What beautiful warm thoughts. There is no place like home. Thank you for sharing with us. I love this time of year too. It is still pretty warm (ok, hot) here in the desert, but there is a different feel to it and I love it.
Have a wonderful week. Snuggle up, be cozy, and count your blessings. You are blessed indeed.
