These are old books..some from the "Forties" and "Fifties'
Our mountain churches would get every new edition of the Stamps Baxter song books.
Sometimes two in one year.
And everybody ...old and young... sang from them.
There are lots of four part harmony songs in these books.
Though many of these books are worn and faded,
We are still singing songs from them today.
Good music never grows old!

My mother-in-law has song books like these, and she used to play the accordion and piano. She loves music. Did you ever play an instrument, Shirley?
