Welcome to my small spot in the universe.
Through pictures and a few words, I hope to communicate to others the blessings we receive, even in the smallest every day things around us.
God is good!

Lonesome Dove

There are many doves in our neighborhood.I hear them cooing all  the time.
To me, it is a sweet, sad and lonesome sound..but I love hearing it, and love having them here.
In the fall, there is a huge flock that stay in the spot where the garden  grew. I guess the dried seeds
from the weeds attract them.
And, there is always one sitting on the wires!
Have a blessed day!

Shirley

Collage!

I was sitting on my front porch, taking pictures of the flowers out there.
These pictures are very bright..but sometimes bright is good!
Blessings on all!

Shirley

Sunday Blessing

Have a blessed Sunday.
A good day to thank the Lord for His many blessings,
And a good day to send up praise.
Love,
Shirley

Myrtle Tree

I love the month of July, partly because it is the month of my birth.Another reason....
In July and August the Crepe Myrtle trees bloom.
The most beautiful flowering tree in the world!
Have a blessed day.

Shirley

Butterfly

This butterfly kept flitting all around while I was gathering corn the other day.
As always, I snapped several pictures. Don't know why, but they seem to prefer the red flowers.
I am told that butterflies signify a new beginning.
Whatever their purpose, I love butterflies.
Have a happy day!
Love,
Shirley

Corn..and Other Things

This is my corn patch..it looks like nothing but weeds.
It has been a particularly rainy season..which made it hard to get in there to work.
Finally, I just let the weeds grow.

But that corn did not mind the weeds..and just grew...big and sweet!
I have a freezer full.

I got a nice, butterfly bonus while picking the corn.
This has been a busy day.
I am blessed!
Love,
Shirley

Darkness and Light

I will admit..this is a gloomy picture..just some trees in the dark shadows.
But I will never forget the day I photographed these trees.
That was the day I learned I was losing my best friend to cancer.
And that was a really heartbreaking day
.
But after the dark, sad days..
Morning comes once again.
And all is well!
Love,
Shirley
