Looking through some papers (trying to clean) I found these notes of a sermon my husband preached in 1995. He was Pastor of our church for 21 years, until sickness caused him to retire. This is not his outline, just some notes I took down while he was preaching. I am glad I found them, made me remember what a good preacher he was!

2 Samuel chapter 5
verses 23-25
23.And When David enquired of the Lord, He said "Thou shalt not go up;
but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
24.And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then shalt thou bestir thyself: for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines."
25. And David did so, as the Lord commanded him;and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
My Notes on his sermon;
1.Prepare to battle
2-Thou shalt not go unless the Lord leads.
3.God takes care of everything.
4.Count it joy when trouble comes.
5,God has a reason for everything,He will show you the right way to go.
6-God has everything under control!
7. God is soon returning to take His church away from this world.
8-Sometimes angels are encamped around us.
9. The only good that comes out of a man is what God brings out.
Leroy has been unable to preach for the last 5 years-strokes, cancer and Guilliame-Barre syndrome have taken their toll, but it is well to remember the good years, and there were many. And God has not forgotten!!!
