The first time I went out by myself after getting my
drivers license, I took my two year old daughter
and went to town. I will never forget how good it felt to be able
to go and not have to ask someone to take me.
I bought this pin (among other things) at the
"dime store"!..remember those?
That was 42 years ago.
I keep things a long time!
Just a little trip down Memory Lane...it does the heart good.
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice end of year.
These vintage pieces are so in style today again. Yes, I remember and so loved "dime stores". In fact, if hubby and I find ourselves in a small little town with an old "dime store" still in operation we spend hours poking around, telling each other about one thing or another and talking with the owner. Still love them! I also remember the day I drove alone for the first time. Went to get the paper for dad and Sat breakfast at the bakery just around the corner from our home, but I felt I had been given wings. Love how you celebrated your first drive with such a pretty bauble. It is a keeper. Happy New Year and thank you for visiting my blog and leaving sweet comments.
